Exodus Happenings, August 26, 2013

by | Aug 27, 2013 | Blog, Community, Events, Mission

Here’s what’s happening at Exodus…

New rotation for Exodus Kids begins Sept. 1

Most needs for workers for the new rotation are filled, but because of the number of babies typically in the 11:00 service, we do still need a helper in the infant room. If you can help with the babies during this rotation, please contact Heather Phillips. There is always a need for subs as well, so if you can’t make an every week commitment, but are willing to serve as s sub, let Heather know that as well.

Promotion Sunday for Exodus Kids, Sept. 1

All kids will move up to their new classrooms in Exodus Kids on Sept. 1. Plan to come a little early to meet the new teachers and help your kids get settled smoothly in their new class.

Walk for Life, Sept. 6

The Walk for Life, to benefit the Gaston County Crisis Pregnancy Center, will be on Friday, Sept. 6. Registration begins at 3:30; the walk begins at 4:00. Exodus will provide the water booth this year; if you can help by providing some bottled water, bring it to church with you next Sunday. If you’d like to participate, or support someone who is participating, contact Darlene Mitchell, or stop by the info table on Sunday morning.

Leadership Summit

The next Leadership Summit will be on September 9 at 6:30 p.m. at 101 South Main. This is an evaluation, planning, and prayer meeting for all who serve at Exodus. If you’re not already serving in some capacity, but would like to, please join us. Child care will be provided at the Iris Room. A light snack will be served (not a meal). Note: you need not be a member to attend the Leadership Summit.

The Latest on the Blog

Make a point to look at the blog at theexoduschurch.org regularly. Some of the topics posted lately:

  • Joseph used his power to serve: Whatever your station in life, you can serve others, as Joseph did. See how, in this guest post by Joy LaPrade.
  • Prepare to die: No one likes to talk about it, but it’s important to prepare to die by making plans to care for your loved ones after you’re gone. Get help here with helpful information from Ben Hoersch.

Community Groups

Are you plugged in to a community group? There are groups meeting throughout the area all week long. Look at the community group options here, and see which one best fits your schedule and location.

Serve @ Exodus

We believe that if God has brought you to Exodus, He has a place for you to serve. There are many ways that you can help. Read the descriptions here for a start. If we can answer any questions or help you serve at Exodus, please let us know. Or make plans to attend the Leadership Summit on Sept. 9.
