Every summer, our church hosts Exodus Kids Extreme, a week much like Vacation Bible School where kids gather to learn about Jesus. In 2025, our theme was “Truth Trail,” and we wrote an original song for the kids to sing throughout the week. What started as a fun, folky song for a week of camp quickly became a favorite, and we knew we wanted to record it.

There’s an old saying that God doesn’t have grandchildren, only children. Faith isn’t something we inherit from our parents, and our dependence on God isn’t something we outgrow as we get older. Whether we’re young or old, we’re all children in need of the same Father. And we’re all pilgrims, making our way through a world that isn’t our home.

Though this is our first original song written for Exodus Kids, our hope is that it reminds the whole church of something we never graduate from: our daily need to walk by faith, not by sight. Because no matter how old we get or how far we’ve traveled, we’re still His children, following our Father home.
