As I sit hear typing this first ever Exodus Church Northlake (ENL) update, I am blown away by God’s faithfulness. I cannot help but think about all He has done and continues to do in my life and the life of Exodus Church to get us to this point. I am humbled that each of you are a part of what we are doing by your faithful support. I just want to say thank you. Thank you for being obedient to our God to support us in this mission of planting ENL this year.
January and February have been exciting months. Anyone interested in being a part of the launch team of ENL has been meeting weekly since September of 2012 to discuss the vision and mission of what we are going to be doing. On January 6th, 21 adults and 10 children covenanted together to be a part of the ENL launch team. We are meeting regularly for continued growth in Christ, community, leadership development, training, and equipping for the days ahead. Please continue to pray for us.
I also want to let you know that we are currently working to negotiate an appropriate deal for a space to meet in for our Sunday morning gatherings. At this point, quite a few more details need to be worked out before this option becomes a reality. Please pray for us to get this space. It is in a great location and there is potential for us to be able to be there for a while into the future as a congregation. If this space does not work out, we trust God has somewhere even better for us to gather.
Please also pray for my family and I to find a house in the Northlake area of Charlotte as we have been house hunting for a while now. There are also several other individuals and families on our team trying to relocate to the north Charlotte area. Please pray for them to find homes as well.
One other practical thing I would ask of you is that you help spread the word about what God is doing through Exodus in the north Charlotte area any way you can. Talk it up. Get your tweet on. Below is a list of five things you can regularly be praying for ENL.
- That the launch team would abide daily in Christ and be unified around the mission.
- That a church would be launched this year and that as a church we would see people delivered from bondage to worship God and serve Him in this world.
- That God would provide for all of our needs abundantly…specifically more support partners and a space to meet.
- That as a church we would faithfully take the gospel to the ends of our streets, this city, and the ends of the earth.
- That God would send more faithful missionaries to be on our launch team.
