Sermon Notes For Kids!

by | Apr 14, 2018 | News

You’ll notice something colorful and new in the seat back pocket in front of you beginning this Sunday.

Exodus Church strives to be a place where everyone feels welcome in our worship services, even our youngest attendees. In an effort to help children engage in the sermon time, we are offering Sermon Notes for Kids sheets. These will be available every week, providing a place for kids (or adults!) to record a few things about the sermon.

Parents are encouraged to help their children to complete the sheets.

  1. Write the date.
  2. Write the scripture passage.
  3. Write down three things about the sermon. These three things can be anything from a simple drawing of a heart or a smiley face to complete sentences based on the age and abilities of your child.
  4. The back of the sheet is blank for further notes or a drawing related to the sermon or just a drawing to pass the time when younger children have reached the end of their attention span.

After church, families can use these notes to discuss the sermon with their children. Encourage your children to tell you what they wrote and why. These are great opportunities to strengthen your child’s understanding of the gospel and support them as they practice taking a more active approach to Biblical learning.
