Prayers for Exodus: An Introduction

by | Jan 3, 2019 | Events, News

On January 6, we start a new series at Exodus and I want to tell you a little about it. The series is called “Prayers for Exodus” and we’ll spend 10 weeks walking through the Exodus Story from the Old Testament. This amazing story of God redeeming a people to worship and serve Him in the world.

Now, The Exodus story serves not just as a lesson from the past, but a gripping picture of what it means to be a redeemed people who worship and serve God in the world in the present and into the future. This story reminds us who we are as a redeemed people and who God is as our redeemer.

We have two goals for this series…

First, that Prayers for Exodus would teach us about God and His Ways.

We learn that he can be trusted. That he’s strong. That he’s a Savior for those who hope in Him. That He is more valuable than anything else we could have…even his gifts. This story teaches us about God and his Ways.

Second, that Prayers for Exodus would teach us to pray.

If God is all those things, then we should be running to him to deliver us…we should be praying…seeking His face in His Word. Not out of guilt, but out of sheer delight and grace.

And as we move into a new year, filled with opportunity, potential, and things we can’t know yet, I can’t imagine two more important things: that we would grow in our knowledge of God better and that we would grow in our praying.

I hope you’ll join us for Prayers for Exodus starting January 6.
