ABOUT EXODUS CHURCH

Exodus Church started in 2009 with 30 adults and 15 children and a desire to be a church-planting church filled with disciple-making disciples. By God’s grace, we’ve become a growing church filled with people (young and old) who have come to faith with lives transformed more into the image of God. We are hopeful for the future as we continue to seek to be a redeemed people who worship and serve God in the world.

Belmont, North Carolina offers a mixture of  small town charm and explosive population growth. A suburb of Charlotte, it is located within a short drive of the Charlotte Douglas International Airport, the National Whitewater Center, the Billy Graham Library, Christmastown USA, Lake Wylie, and a variety of restaurant and shopping options.

What we are looking for

Exodus Church of Belmont, North Carolina is seeking a Pastor of Worship to oversee our Worship Gatherings and Exodus Music. The right candidate will have a balance of experience and training. He will be able to shepherd our people through music. He will be able to equip others for worship ministry. He will have a heart for God and His Word so that he can teach and admonish with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs.

What if I can’t come back yet?

Not everyone will be comfortable returning to worship services at The Mill at this time. We will continue to offer a quality video service each week for those who need it.

2 Primary Components
  1. Pastor: This man would serve as an elder of Exodus Church, sharing the general pastoral and theological leadership of the local congregation. He must have a shepherd’s heart to pastor people with music as his primary avenue.  
  2. Worship:
    1. Oversee all elements of gathered worship (music, AV, etc.) so that worship gatherings increase our affection for God, flow smoothly, and are executed with excellence.
    2. Equipping the saints for the work of ministry (All of our musicians and AVL Leaders are volunteers.)
    3. Authentic Excellence in his craft and a desire to grow (We want him to seek to be the best version of himself, not someone else.).
Person Profile

  • Biblically Qualified for the office of Pastor/Elder 

  • Theological Alignment with Exodus Church (Including Philosophy of Worship Ministry)

  • Cultural Fit for our Church and Staff Team

  • Hard Skills

    • Motivated Self-Starter

    • Musical Skills necessary for the role (including ability to encourage growth in and development of team members)

    • Able to Develop and Equip Leaders for Ministry

    • Proficient in technology needed to accomplish the role

    • Dependable 

  • Soft Skills

    • Pastor’s Heart

    • High Relational Skills

    • Humble, Learner, and a Desire to Grow

    • Team Player

    • Effective Communicator

Preferred experience

  • 5 years experience on church staff or in a similar role.

  • College Degree Required, Seminary Degree preferred.
