ABOUT EXODUS CHURCH
Exodus Church started in 2009 with 30 adults and 15 children and a desire to be a church-planting church filled with disciple-making disciples. By God’s grace, we’ve become a growing church filled with people (young and old) who have come to faith, with lives transformed more into the image of God. We are hopeful for the future as we continue to seek to be a redeemed people who worship and serve God in the world.
Belmont, North Carolina, offers a mixture of small town charm and explosive population growth. A suburb of Charlotte, it is located within a short drive of the Charlotte Douglas International Airport, the National Whitewater Center, the Billy Graham Library, Christmastown USA, Lake Wylie, and a variety of restaurant and shopping options.
What we are looking for
Exodus Church of Belmont, North Carolina, is seeking a Pastor of Care and Counseling. The right candidate will have a balance of experience and training. He will be able to provide pastoral care and counseling personally, equip Exodus to care for one another, and create/execute a comprehensive church strategy.
What if I can’t come back yet?
Not everyone will be comfortable returning to worship services at The Mill at this time. We will continue to offer a quality video service each week for those who need it.
3 Primary Components
- Time and focus will be divided equally among the following 3 responsibilities:
- Pastor
- Serve as part of the elder team
- Preach as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Pastoral Care
- Train Exodus to provide care for one another
- Coordinate programs and strategies to care for the flock
- organizing care, recovery, and support groups and relationships
- coordinating bereavement, funeral, and hospital care
- coordinating prayer/pastoral support and availability on Sunday mornings
- Overseeing the assimilation process and first impressions
- Oversee the Connections Coordinator, helping people to call Exodus home
- Pastoral Counseling
- Meeting with members directly for pastoral counseling
- Developing a comprehensive pastoral counseling strategy
- Maintaining referral network of local Christian counselors
- Coordinating premarital counseling

- Biblically Qualified for the office of Pastor/Elder
- Theological Alignment with Exodus Church

Preferred experience
- At least 5 years experience on church staff
- College Degree Required, Seminary Degree preferred.
- Training in Biblical Counseling
