ABOUT EXODUS CHURCH

Exodus Church started in 2009 with 30 adults and 15 children and a desire to be a church-planting church filled with disciple-making disciples. By God’s grace, we’ve become a growing church filled with people (young and old) who have come to faith, with lives transformed more into the image of God. We are hopeful for the future as we continue to seek to be a redeemed people who worship and serve God in the world.

Belmont, North Carolina, offers a mixture of  small town charm and explosive population growth. A suburb of Charlotte, it is located within a short drive of the Charlotte Douglas International Airport, the National Whitewater Center, the Billy Graham Library, Christmastown USA, Lake Wylie, and a variety of restaurant and shopping options.

Job Description

 Commitment: 20 hrs/week, including in office staff and admin meetings

What if I can’t come back yet?

Not everyone will be comfortable returning to worship services at The Mill at this time. We will continue to offer a quality video service each week for those who need it.

Purpose of position

To provide leadership and administrative support to the First Impressions ministry, providing opportunities for members and visitors of Exodus to find their place to belong and their part to play.

The Team

Reports to: Pastor of Care & Counseling

Supports and Coordinates With: Other staff, elders, leaders, and members within Exodus Church

Qualifications
  • Member of Exodus Church or actively pursuing membership
  • Gifted in administration and organization 
  • Comfortable with being a servant leader
  • Ability to inspire leaders and volunteers in the mission of Exodus and the mission of the First Impressions Team
  • Ability to recruit, train, and support volunteers as they seek to welcome and connect guests and members of Exodus
Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership for the First Impressions Team
    • Oversee the leadership structure within the Info Desk Team, Greeter Team, Usher Team, Hospitality Team, and all other teams that comprise First Impressions.
    • Recruit additional volunteers and leaders for the First Impressions Team
    • Ensure proper training is taking place for those who serve on the First Impressions Team
      ensures that Info Desk Team is adequately informed and supported to answer any questions given to the Info Desk Team
    • Work with Team Leaders to ensure scheduling is taking place to meet the needs of Sunday morning
    • Oversee the placement of visual information on Sunday morning (i.e. first time guests tent in Plaza, signs in the Commons, cards in the seatbacks, info table set up, sliders, etc.)
  • Provide administration for the assimilation and connection process
    • Define and execute the vision for First Impressions, Assimilation, and Connections alongside the Pastor of Care and Counseling
    • Communicate with First Time Guests, including follow up to ensure connection to serving, CGs, and other individuals
    • Maintain and work to improve the Assimilation Trello Board
    • Lead and assist in other efforts to foster deeper connections with members and visitors
  • Other responsibilities and duties
    Order and maintain supplies for communion
    • Ordering branded items, such as mugs and pens (4imprint: logos and info are already uploaded)
    • Provide administrative support and follow up communications for First Steps
    • Plan additional connection strategies for important times throughout the year (Christmas, Easter, “Grow/Gather” Seasons, Serve Sunday, etc.)
    • Grow as a leader and servant through reading, leading, receiving feedback, attending trainings, and teaching

Skills Needed
  • Strong computer skills with ability and willingness to learn
    • Fluency in Google Applications (primarily Docs & Sheets)
  • Excellent ability to communicate and interact with people
  • Organized and productive
