Exodus Happenings, November 11, 2012

by | Nov 11, 2012 | Events

Here’s what’s happening at Exodus:

Brittany Beckham and Grace McKinnon are hosting a party for the 3rd through 5th grade E-kid girls, Saturday, November 17th from 1:30 – 4:00 pm. We will watch Brave, the new princess movie, eat popcorn and decorate cupcakes. Everything will be provided! Brentwood Chase Apts., 1666-I Lowell Bethesda Rd. Gastonia, NC 28056

The Lowe Community Group will coordinate efforts to gather clothing and DVDs (G-rated only) for Page Primary School and North Belmont Elementary. Following is a list of things that are especially needed:

* Sweat pants that can be used for girls or boys
* Underwear
* Socks
* Sweatshirts
* Long sleeved shirts
* Shoes

The sizes range from 5T all the way up to size 12; it will be best if we can collect a range of sizes. Note also that Page has just pre-K through first graders. The deadline for bringing your items is next Sunday, November 18. Look for the bins in the Welcome area at the Iris Room.

If you’ve been coming to Exodus for a while, and are interested in learning more about what it means to be a member here, come to our Next Steps meeting on Sunday, Dec. 2, at 5:00 at the Iris Room. We’ll share important information about membership, and you’ll have an opportunity to ask whatever questions you might have. If you plan to come, let us know here, so that we can plan accordingly for child care.

We are planning for parent/child dedication services on November 25 (Sunday after Thanksgiving) and December 23 (Sunday before Christmas). If you’d be interested in participating in parent/child dedication on either of those dates, please let us know by replying here, and specify which service you prefer.

Community Groups are an important part of how we live on mission at Exodus. If you’re not already plugged in to a community group, check out the options here, or contact us here. There are new groups starting and other groups with room to expand. Find one that works for your schedule and location.

There are many ways to serve at Exodus! If you haven’t already found the place that fits you best, contact one of the elders to discuss, or email us here. We’ll be more than happy to help you find your spot!
