On Sunday, as part of our House Rules series, we looked at a very difficult passage of Scripture about the role of women in the life of the local church. At Exodus, we are complementarian – which basically means that we believe that Man and Woman are created by God as equals – equally reflecting the image of God. We also believe that men and women are created with beautiful differences with complementary gifts, tendencies and callings that find expression in the God given roles for men and women in the family and the church. We believe this to be true and we seek to love and live this truth in our families and in our church.
The following are some helpful resources for study of this important issue.
- What’s the Difference by John Piper
- Radical Womanhood by Carolyn McCulley
- Twisted Gender by Reid Monaghan
There are certainly more resources available on this important topic. However, I find that these three speak well to this topic.
