Women’s Retreat 2019 – Living Hope

by | Feb 6, 2019 | Events, News

“According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead…” (1 Peter 1:3)

Around 64 A.D., the apostle Peter wrote a letter to Christians who needed encouragement. He reminded them of the hope they had been given through Christ, a hope that would allow them to endure trials and persecutions.

On our 2019 Women’s Retreat, “Living Hope,” we will be studying the book of 1 Peter, which reminds us of our living hope and encourages and teaches us how to live in hope — whether we are going through times of suffering or simply struggling to endure the trials of daily life.

On April 12 and 13, the women of Exodus will travel to Bonclarken Retreat Center in Flat Rock for a time of rest, worship and encouragement. There will be Bible study and small group discussion times, as well as time to hang out and meet new friends.

Speaker: Sarah Ivill

Our study times will be led by Sarah Ivill. Sarah has written several books, including a study on 1 and 2 Peter, and her passion is for women to “know the joy of studying Christ in all of Scripture.” Sarah lives with her husband and four children in Matthews and attends Christ Covenant Church.
