Before I give an update on how things are going as we prepare to launch Exodus Northake in 2013, I want to say thank you for all the prayers, words of encouragement, and support so many of you have given us so far. All of the support is certainly an encouragement. Thank you.
Anyone interested in being a part of the Exodus Northlake launch team has been gathering weekly since September. We have had around 30 adults and 15 kids gathering with us at these meetings. We have spent significant time discussing what it means to live our lives as everyday missionaries where we live, work, and play. We have discussed what the church is and how she belongs to Jesus. We are currently walking through our core values at Exodus Church…redemption, community, worship, and mission. On January the 6th, a group of us will sign covenants to join together as a part of the Exodus Northlake launch team. This will be an exciting day as we begin to move forward in the call God has given us to plant a church planting church in north Charlotte.
Here are some ways you can pray with us and for us:
- Pray for the launch team. Pray we would each daily abide in our gracious King Jesus. Pray for us to each know and own the mission to which we have been called. Pray we would be unified in Christ as we serve Him together. (John 15: 1-5, 17:20-21)
- Pray God would use us to see lives transformed by the gospel. Pray that He would do more than we could ever ask or imagine in and through us for the sake of His great name. (Romans 1: 16, Ephesians 3: 20-21)
- Pray the right people serve in the right places on the team. And pray earnestly for more workers for the harvest. (Matthew 9:37-38)
- Pray God would provide us a space to meet in next year.
