Here’s what’s happening at Exodus…

Exodus Welcomes Phud Chambers, June 15, 2014
Ok, so his given name is John, but friends call him Phud. Perhaps he’ll explain why he’s called Phud when he’s with us at Exodus on June 15.  Phud Chambers serves Jesus as the pastor of Remedy Church, a growing church in downtown Rock Hill, SC. He and his wife, Christie, have five wonderful children.
Phud shares our passion for Jesus, the Bible and church planting. He is currently pursuing a PhD in church planting at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Phud loves proclaiming God’s Word. We look forward to his time with us next Sunday.

Summer School

All Exodus adults are invited to join our interns in “Summer School,” Monday nights (and some Wednesdays at noon) at the Exodus office space at 6 Airline Street (around the corner from the Caravan). You may drop in on any class, no advance commitment required. We’re very excited about our line-up of speakers and topics and we hope you can join us for Summer School.

The next classes are…

June 11 (Wednesday, 12 noon, bring your lunch:  Working in the Church, David Keen

David is the lead pastor and planter of Exodus Church Northlake. He has been working in ministry for over 10 years and will be discussing the challenges and joys of working in the church.

June 16 (Monday, 6:30pm):  Giving Counsel/Listening, David Kneen and Rici Reid

David Kneen and Rici Reid are both experienced counselors, who will be presenting some guiding principles for  counsel and listening skills.

Summer Kick-off Events

We would like to help celebrate the summer with a bang! We will be kicking off the summer with two events for our elementary classes. Both of these events will have more details to come and will require an RSVP. Save the dates!

June 16: K – 2nd Graders – Kate’s Skating Rink

June 23:  3rd- 5th Graders – 1:00 pm – Bowling at Textile Lanes, Belmont, NC

Nashville Summer Mission

We’ll appreciate your prayers for our summer mission trip to Nashville to do some light construction (ie, gruntwork) at the Axis Church or lead Bible studies and fun activities at the local community center. This short-term mission opportunity, June 19-22, is appropriate for any age, and special accommodations will be made for families who want to bring children. Cost per individual or family will be roughly $300-$400 and support letters will help raise funds to reach that amount. If you can help, message Julie Croshaw on The City for more details.

Community Groups

Are you plugged in to a community group? Community groups play a significant role in the life of Exodus Church. They meet weekly throughout the area; there is sure to be an option that’s conveniently located and timed for you. Look for a Community Group options sheet at the Welcome Desk on Sunday mornings, or view the list here.
