“Mission arises from the heart of God himself, and is communicated from his heart to ours. Mission is the global outreach of the global people of a global God.” –Chris Wright (The Mission of God’s People)

God has commanded us to take the glorious message of the gospel to all nations. At Exodus, we believe that we are called to be on mission wherever God has sent us. We are all missionaries. Missionaries that go to other nations to proclaim the good news of Jesus are not special “varsity” Christians. They are simply being obedient and faithful to go where God sends them to live out the gospel among the people God sends them to.  We are called to do the same thing here. As a church we want to play our role well in taking the gospel to our neighbors and to the ends of the earth.

Because of this we will continually seek to partner with people across the globe to make disciples and plant churches to the glory of God. One of the groups we are partnering with to help take the gospel to another part of the world is Echelon. They are a group of people that are called to take the gospel to sub-saharan Africa beginning in northern Uganda and South Sudan. Their primary task is to take the gospel to the forgotten and marginalized in Africa. They will be especially focused on those who have never heard the gospel as they seek to make disciples and plant churches there among the nationals.

 What can you do today?

PRAY – You can join the Echelon Prayer Nation here.

FOLLOW – You can stay up to date with all God is doing with Echelon by following them on twitter, facebook, and on their blog.

GIVE – This week at Exodus Kids Extreme, there will be a little healthy fundraising competition between the guys and girls. The kids will be competing to see who can raise the most money to help build an African Tukal (basically a hut made of wood and grass). Send some money with your kids this week to help support the Echelon team.

GO – We are working to put together plans to have a mission team on the ground in Africa next summer (2013). Plans for this short-term mission trip should be in place by September. Pray now about the possibility of going to Africa to serve alongside the Echelon team next summer.
